The Bureau of the Pan-African Parliament meets the South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation

Hon. Chief Fortune Charumbira, President of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), led a delegation for a courtesy call on H.E. Dr. Naledi Pandor, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) of the Republic of South Africa.

The meeting covered the latest developments regarding the Pan-African Parliament and its current institutional operational capacity, within the framework of the Host Country Agreement between the South African Government and the African Union (AU).

Officials from both parties also discussed possible dates for the upcoming Ordinary Session of the Pan-African Parliament, where DIRCO is expected to provide the traditional logistical support to ensure the success of the gathering. This event will bring together African Parliamentarians from the 55 member states of the AU to engage in discussions on the issues facing the continent.

The President of the Pan-African Parliament expressed his gratitude to the Government of South Africa for the facilities provided to support its mandate on behalf of the people of Africa.
