Pan-African Parliament enlists support from Algeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs

The President of the Pan-African Parlement (PAP), H.E. Chief Fortune Charumbira and his delegation were received by H.E. Ramtane Lamamra, Algeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad. The PAP delegation is currently in Algeria as part of an official visit until 4 February 2023.

The meeting discussed ways and means to enable the Pan-African Parliament to fulfill its mandate and contribute to the implementation of Agenda 2063. The President of the Pan-African Parliament briefed the Minister on the current challenges facing the institution and areas requiring from Algeria ahead of the 42nd Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and the 36th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union. H.E. Chief Charumbira also thanked the Minister and the entire government of Algeria for the unwavering support to the Parliament.

In this regard, Minister Lamamra, a member of the Executive Council reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the Pan-African Parliament receives the necessary resources from the African Union in order to operate optimally. The two parties agreed on the crucial role of the Parliament in realising the Africa We want.
