CONDOLENCE MESSAGE BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PAN-AFRICAN PARLIAMENT: GHANA HELICOPTER CRASH

The President of the Pan-African Parliament, His Excellency, Chief Fortune Charumbira, the Bureau and the entire membership of the Pan-African Parliament, join the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency, President John Mahama, the Government and people of Ghana, the families of the deceased, and the representatives of the Republic of Ghana in the Pan-African Parliament, in mourning the tragic and untimely passing on of Hon. Minister Edward Omane Boamah, Hon. Minister Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed and six other Ghanaian citizens in a helicopter crash on Wednesday 6th August 2025.

The Pan-African Parliament stands in solidarity and commiserates with the Republic of Ghana in the wake of this untimely national tragedy.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the deceased, their families and all those affected by this heartbreaking accident. May the nation and their loved ones find strength and comfort in the memories of the deceased who died while selflessly serving their nation.

May their dear departed souls rest in perfect peace.
