This morning, the President of the Republic of Chad, H.E. Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, welcomed a delegation from the Pan-African Parliament, led by its President, the Honourable Chief Fortune Charumbira.
The Pan-African Parliament delegation participated in the celebrations marking Pan-African Women's Day in N'Djamena from July 31 to August 1, 2024. The theme of the event was "Investing in Education: Securing the Future of Women and Girls in Africa."
On August 5, the delegation met with the Chadian Head of State to present the conclusions of the proceedings and to seek his opinions and valuable advice.
During the meeting, the President of the Pan-African Parliament, Chief Fortune Charumbira praised President Deby Itno's leadership and congratulated him on his successful election as President of Chad following a peaceful electoral process. He commended Chad's progress toward a return to constitutional normalcy and wished the country success in the upcoming elections.
