A delegation from the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) Committee on Gender, Family, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, led by its Chair, Ivorian Senator Mariam Dao Gabala, recently met with Mr. Adama Coulibaly, the Minister of Finance and Budget.
This meeting was part of an advocacy mission initiated by Pan-African parliamentarians aimed at promoting the ratification of various protocols that address the needs of vulnerable populations. Discussions with Minister Coulibaly emphasized the critical need to enhance the budget of the Pan-African Parliament. During the meeting, the Committee Chair, representing the President of the Pan-African Parliament, urged Côte d'Ivoire—due to its significant contribution and influence within the Union—to take on the role of spokesperson for the institution. This leadership would help ensure that the Pan-African Parliament receives the adequate resources necessary for effective operation.
