𝐏𝐚𝐧-𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

The Pan-African Parliament Bureau, led by H.E. Dr. Fateh Boutbig, met virtually with representatives from the Parliament of South Africa, including Rt. Hon. Thoko Didiza, Speaker of the National Assembly. This meeting marked the first bilateral engagement for the Bureau of the Seventh Legislature of the Pan-African Parliament since taking office on 30 April 2026.

Both parties pledged to strengthen their existing collaboration as the Continental Parliament enters its new phase. The Bureau acknowledged and expressed gratitude to South Africa for the support and facilities provided to the Pan-African Parliament over the past twenty years.

The Speaker of the National Assembly of South Africa congratulated the Bureau on its election, which adhered to the Union’s principle of equitable, regular, and predictable regional rotation. The election ensured balanced representation across gender as well as the five regions of the continent.
