PAP Secretariat conveys message of support and solidarity to flood victims in South Africa

The Secretariat of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) is saddened by the loss of over 250 lives in the city of Durban and surrounding areas, following what is being described as the worst weather storms in the history of South Africa.
In a letter to the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO), Mr. Gali Massa Harou, Acting Clerk of the PAP, has conveyed solidarity with the Government and people of South Africa during this period of mourning and recovery.
“Our sympathies go out to the families of those who have perished, and the scores of people who have been robbed of precious livelihoods, homes and lands,” said Mr. Harou.
The Acting Clerk further expressed the PAP Secretariat’s readiness to ready to provide any support during this dark time, while renewing assurances of the continental Parliament’s highest consideration to the Department of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa.
