The President of the Pan-African Parliament, Hon. Chief Fortune Charumbira was today granted an audience by H.E. Mohamed Bazoum, President of the Republic of Niger.
The two men discussed the state of affairs at the Pan-African Parliament with a focus on how the political leadership elected in June 2022 has successfully renewed and reinvigorated the Continental Parliament. The President of the Pan-African Parliament also outlined the support required by the Parliament to become more effective in delivering on its mandate.
As a background, the current President of Niger is a former Member of the Pan-African Parliament, who served alongside Hon. Chief Charumbira. The President of Niger hailed Hon. Chief. Charumbira for his leadership at the helm of the institution.
The President of the Pan-African Parliament was accompanied by Hon.Lucia Dos Passos, Third Vice President as well as Members of the Niger delegation to the legislative Organ of the African Union.
