Pan-African Parliament Joins Africa’s Premier Connectivity Event in Kigali

A delegation from the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), headed by President H.E. Chief Fortune Charumbira, is currently in Kigali for the Mobile World Congress 2025 (MWC25). This flagship event, organized by GSMA, runs from 21 to 23 October 2025, and is recognized as the largest and most influential connectivity forum in Africa.

MWC25 focuses on key themes such as a Connected Continent, the AI Future, Africa’s Digital DNA, and Fintech. Thousands of representatives from various sectors, including mobile operators, tower companies, energy firms, investors, donors, government officials, and policymakers, are attending the three-day gathering.

The opening ceremony at the Kigali Convention Centre (KCC) was attended by Hon. Behdja Lammali (Algeria), Chair of the Committee on Transport, Industry, Communications, Energy, Science and Technology; Hon. Amina Ali Idriss (Chad), Deputy Chairperson of the same Committee; and Hon. Danson Mungatana (Kenya), a Member of the Committee on Monetary and Financial Affairs. The ceremony featured remarks from the President of Rwanda, H.E. Paul Kagame.

The Pan-African Parliament is committed to shaping Africa’s digital transformation by engaging in evidence-based Parliamentary action, collaborating closely with partners like the African Population and Health Research Center (APRHC) and GSMA.
