On behalf of the Bureau and the entire membership of the Pan-African Parliament and indeed on my own behalf, I extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Her Excellency, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, particularly her daughter, Hon. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, who is a Member of the Pan African Parliament, the Ghanaian delegation to the Pan African Parliament, the Government and people of Ghana, and to all Africans who admired and benefited from the life of service of the later former First Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Madam Nana Konadu Agyeman - Rawlings, who was called to higher glory on 23rd October 2025.
We mourn the loss of a distinguished African amazon, whose commitment to women’s empowerment, social justice and public service stood as a beacon not only for Ghana, but also for the wider continent. As First Lady of Ghana, and in her subsequent roles, Madam Agyeman-Rawlings championed the welfare of women and children, and advanced leadership by and for African women.
As we honour her memory of exemplary service, her courage and fortitude in the struggle for women’s emancipation, we pray for strength, comfort and peace for her loved ones, for the Ghanaian nation.
May her dear departed soul rest in eternal peace and may we continue to carry forward the ideals she so passionately defended – equity, equality and justice.
H.E. Chief Fortune Z. Charumbira
PRESIDENT OF THE PAN-AFRICAN PARLIAMENT
