PUBLIC NOTICE—Sixth Ordinary Session of the Sixth Legislature of the Pan-African Parliament

The Pan-African Parliament (PAP), the legislative arm of the African Union, wishes to inform the general public, National and Regional Parliaments, African Union organs, Member States, international organizations, media, and development partners that the 6th Ordinary Session of the Sixth Legislature of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) will be held from 1 to 15 November 2025 at its Headquarters in Midrand, South Africa, under the African Union Theme of the Year for 2025: Justice for Africans and People of African Descent through Reparations.”

Preparatory meetings are scheduled to convene before the formal opening of the Ordinary Session on 3 November 2025, as per the following programme:

MORE INFORMATION:

The Pan-African Parliament (PAP), as the continental legislature, serves as a platform for representatives from all African states to engage in discussions and decision-making on the continent's challenges. The Rules of Procedure of the PAP mandate that the Parliament hold at least two plenary sessions per year. The upcoming Session is the second and last of this calendar year.

During these sessions, the plenary reviews reports from various committees and makes recommendations for the Summit of African Heads of State and Government on harmonised policies and law for the continent. The Parliament also receives reports from other AU Organs and African Institutions. The Parliament is composed of 275 members and is headquartered in Midrand, South Africa.

PHYSICAL ATTENDANCE:

Members of the public who wish to observe the Ordinary Session can obtain daily passes from the accreditation centre at the Parliament Headquarters in Midrand, South Africa. The Procedure for media accreditation will be detailed in a subsequent media advisory.
